For Richmond or Poorer

Nickie Harte Kelly
Nickie Harte Kelly thumbnail
Nickie Harte Kelly Quirky music, lots of time signature changes. Damn fine keyboards, progressive with a nod to alt rock/pop, strong percussive presence between the keys and drums. Great driving music, with vocals that quite suit the idiosyncratic nature of the music and lyrics. Favourite Track: Favorite track: This Time I Think.
Riffmaster General
Riffmaster General thumbnail
Riffmaster General this album sounds like an OST to some Tim Burton movies: quaint, mesmerizing and otherworldly. Great production and mix, proggy riffs and cinematic melodies. Gonna spin it often during this autumn, sounds like a good fit to the nature's mood in my part of the world. Favorite track: Point Click Aim.
Killdozer88
Killdozer88 thumbnail
Killdozer88 100% agreed with previous commenters. deep, complex and figurative music. although this album doesn't have a single guitar riff with distortion it sounds really "heavy" and intense. This album is by all means great accompaniment for road trips or sole walks in the park. Thank you for this!
Favorite track: This Time I Think.
Сats and Metal Media
Сats and Metal Media thumbnail
Сats and Metal Media This music is definitely for the fans of Faith No More and Mr Bungle! Very pleasant and satisfying experience! Piano and vocals are ear soothing, time signatures - odd, drumming - intense. Wish to see this band live someday and drink a lot of coffee while listening to them. Strange... Favorite track: Home of the Strange.

I face these days with a wink and a smile Bury my head in the gravel for awhile And that's not my style Cause I've been lying on the home of the strange And I've been dying on the home of the strange It all changed at the stop of a dime From everlasting to just passing time With no reason or rhyme Cause I've been lying on the home of the strange And I've been dying on the home of the strange I left the life I loved behind To plant myself into this bind If I had known just how this life might be I would have stayed and pined Thought I had the perfect reason - thought I had to try Come to find a change in season is less than pleasing to my eye It's time to get things back on track Regain the feel that I now lack Before I crack Cause I've been lying on the home of the strange And I've been dying on the home of the strange Yes I've been lying on the home of the strange And I've been dying on the home of the strange

In every time of disaster There's a man who's "Best in Show" Who's standing tall and full of answers Or in the least, seems in the know Point, Click, and Aim Assigning all the Blame Give us a name to saddle all the shame Reproachment to go It seems the world is getting faster But our brains, they stay on slow We're playing puppet to the master We nurse a drink, and enjoy the show Point, Click, and Aim Assigning all the Blame Give us a name to saddle all the shame of the world Take reign of the public's fear Find us a patsy to take on down Convince us we're in the clear We're always quoted out of context When things have changed on second look We'll hem and we'll haw at giving answers Until we're sure we're off the hook Point, Click, and Aim Assigning all the Blame Give us a name to saddle all the shame of the world Take reign of the public's fear Find us a patsy and take him down Convince us we're in the clear

It's all so damn heavy Feeling all the weight of the world I've failed all my friends and family Feeling all the weight of the world Take this anger like a dagger Excise this enmity and throw it all away I've been graded J for Jaded There goes the optimist whose life has turned to gray I'm trapped without a hope of amnesty  Feeling all the weight of the world My life's goal reduced to travesty Feeling all the weight of the world All this fear you left unstated Gave me the go-ahead to throw it all away I'm now uncrated, locked and gated Without an opening, my life has turned to gray Seems this was a chance I had to take Far as I could know Instead of taking two steps forward I've dug a ditch below I'm searching for a glimpse of light To help me find a path to take me home It's all so damn heavy Feeling all the weight of the world Feeling all the weight of the world Feeling all the weight

If Only 05:17
We learn to live our lives in phases Tiptoeing our way through mines and mazes If only we had this moment Seduced by how the grass is greener Forgetting how the world grows meaner If only we'd take a moment to savor life We just keep trudging onward Someday we'll say the hell with getting better And throw away this tattered scarlet letter Goodbye to inspiration Farewell discovery Life's easier through sedation And all this time we've spent in waiting Is time that could be spent creating If only we'd take a moment to take our shot Instead of always wondering Someday we'll say the hell with getting better And throw away this tattered scarlet letter Goodbye to inspiration Farewell discovery Life's easier through sedation And I wonder, when we take the time to grow Will we appreciate the higher ground, or just embrace the low? Will we ever let this need for greatness go? Is that the grand design - to break our hearts, then let them overflow? We've learned to live our lives in cages We haven't stepped outside in ages If only we had the notion

Uncle Joe 05:16
It seems there's always one everywhere we turn Pissing their time away with other's cash to burn Look out for number one, to all those in the way Create a wake of pain, and overshoot your stay Take us for a ride - Put on another show How can you help yourself if you will never grow? Deal us rags again, make sure to play it slow We're better off away from our Uncle Joe And I see through the web of lies that you create The story's all the same - you only change the state Another hairbrained scheme born out of the blue One day it just might work, if you could see it through Take us for a ride - Put on another show How can you help yourself if you will never grow? Such a sad display, I'm sure that you must know We're better off away from our Uncle Joe Just inherited your role - It's all I ever dreamed Such a vibrant brand new soul - a radiant Violet beam Can't begin to fathom how, when blessed the power of three You could ever let your life go this way It seems you're losing more karma by the day Haven't you had enough of being in the way? Take us for a ride - Put on another show How can you help yourself if you will never grow? Deal us rags again, make sure to play it slow We're better off away Take us for a ride - Put on another show How can you help yourself if you will never grow? Such a sad display, I'm sure that you must know We're better off away I said we're better off away from you, Uncle Joe

It's been some time, I know We've had our ups and downs, our highs and our lows It's time to close this door left gaping - it's time to let things go So say goodbye to who you used to know (who said) Take my hand, I'll lead you out of here Place all the troubles of the world on my shoulder Those words I spoke in the past Don't you know I meant them every one But some things don't last You are a door that needs replacing Shattered broken glass who hides it well by talking out her ass (You'll say) Take my hand, I'll lead you out of here Place all the troubles of the world on my shoulder Take a stand or get away from here Cause I have no more time to waste anymore I have given into hate Over choices made and things I can't control But I'm here to clean the slate To connect the dots and make the circle whole Get closure for the soul Patience, show some restraint Don't let her see your cards or peel back the paint It's been a lifetime that you've waited to bare your soul And you'd be such a fool to ever let it show Take my hand, I'll lead you out of here Place all the troubles of the world on my shoulder Take a stand or get away from here Cause I have no more time to waste anymore Will you turn your head and look into my eyes? Stop with all these lies Take my hand and watch me let it go Cut the cord and look out down below I will wait and time will help you grow 'til one day we'll smile and say hello The more I learn, the less I seem to know I think it's time I finally let it go
7.
I'm trying quietly to pry inside your head But all I see is red I don't know what to do or where to tread We atrophy instead This time I think it's over by what we left unsaid The hours we spent in wonder now replaced with dread I'm nodding silently as though I understand This sudden reprimand I don't know what we are or where we stand Our shoes are filled with sand This time I think it's over by what we left unsaid The hours we spent in wonder now replaced with dread I'm trying quietly to pry inside your head But all I see is red I don't know what to do or where to tread We atrophy instead
8.
Serve me up a plate of lies Paint me a postcard - a feast for the eyes I've never been more alone Farther away than when we were on the phone I cannot go on this way Make up or break up - it's all the same Closer than we've been before But somehow this hollow has fractured our core So show me the way to make it through the day Cause I have to say, tomorrow's far away The longer I stay, the greater my anger takes the place of pain Still have trouble looking back Rear-view mirror's developed a crack Wish that I could let this go And pick up the lesson that I'm supposed to know So show me the way to make it through the day Cause I have to say, tomorrow's far away The longer I stay, the greater my anger takes the place of pain I've spun it all around And tried to find the reason for you running far away And all that I have found Is that you're just afraid to say goodbye to yesterday But one thing I know is that life is a constant change And one way to grow is let go - rearrange. So show me the way to make it through the day Cause I have to say, tomorrow's far away The longer I stay, the greater my anger takes the place of pain I have lost my way
9.
Lost in all the grand design Is how we've managed to be true We've forged our way despite this jagged line We've faced the storm and passed on through Cause in this charade of life, there'll be highs and unrelenting lows As far as we could know Sadness will fade in time Let the love and passion overflow One more for the road The cost of living by a code To live a life that's absolute Is that we're forced to take the long and winding road And face the battles underfoot For in this parade of life All the highs are worth the various lows Reaping what we sow No need to waste more time Let the love and passion overflow One more for the road I'll admit that I have had my doubts I've lost my faith a time or two before But I still am ready to roll And I overcome these bouts of lows with absolution unconditional Yes I still am ready to roll Yes, in this charade of life, there'll be highs and unrelenting lows As far as we can know Sadness will fade in time Let the love and passion overflow One more for the road

about

Damn Fine Coffee Durham, North Carolina

DFC, the latest project of Jonn Buzby (Land of Chocolate, Finneus Gauge) takes a stripped-down approach to the frenetic musical mayhem that has long been Buzby's trademark, eschewing the use of guitar in exchange for a more simplistic trio that most notably resembles Ben Folds Five in terms of setup and personnel... ... more
